Regeneration
2024 - a year of change
In 2023 there were many hurdles for the Farmer's Market, a soggy season lead to cancelled markets and a decimated stage for performances. The community soon realized it would take a village to support the market in future years.
Fortunately there was enough community action to rebuild the infrastructure of the market and sustain operations for an incremental season of change in 2024. Check out this article from the News & Citizen to learn about the regeneration of our Farmer's Market.
There were many victories for our little market in 2024!
We hosted 23 unique vendors and 3 community organizations throughout the season.
Live Music returned to the Rotary Stage, hosting 9 musicians and introducing Community Music Night.
Connecting with our community, we were able to offer 4 special events.
We grossed over $10,000 in agricultural sales alone.
Through collected revenue reports we meet criteria to apply for SNAP/EBT authorization.
We cancelled 1 market.
We evacuated infrastructure, protecting market assets.
Raised enough money to support ongoing administrative costs.
Most importantly, we got to connect with our community
Yet there is still much work to be done. Each year the cost to keep the market alive is ongoing. For the Jeffersonville Farmer's Market to create a reputable and vibrant space that supports local entrepreneurs, we must take collaborative action. We will rely on you, our community to help us.
